Christmas & New Year Pet Care

Author: Amy Holloway

If these dogs look like how you feel, you’ve probably got a long to-do-list right about now. Here’s one thing you can check off your list, finding out when your vet practice is open over the festive period and when your last day to order products is.

So that our staff can spend Christmas with their families, our Bromsgrove, Hagley & Rubery vet practices will be open until 3pm on Christmas Eve, and will then re-open on Tuesday 29th December at normal times. See all of our festive and New Year opening times below.

Out of Hours Emergency Pet Care 24/7

With all of the rushing about at this time of year, pets can be left to their own devices more and items such as sparkly (smashable) baubles and tasty (toxic) treats can be left in reach. If your pet gets injured or consumes something harmful, call any of our practice numbers out of hours to receive emergency advice on what to do, and whether your pet needs to be seen straight away.

Find out more about our Emergency Pet Care Service.

CALL 01527 889810 if you have a pet health emergency day or night.

Contacting Us Over Christmas & New Year

If you need to contact us during normal opening hours, please note there will be a smaller-than-usual team at our practices so we urge you to please CALL US, rather than email or contact us via our online forms, as we will not be able to monitor these as frequently during this period.

Due to staff holidays over the festive period, we won’t be monitoring Facebook or Twitter messages or comments between 24th December and 3rd January, so again if you need us, please do call us.

Last Day To Order Meds, Flea & Worm Treatments & Food

The last day for ordering medication for collection before Christmas is Tuesday 22nd December. Please call us or order online.

Your collection date will most likely be Wednesday 23rd or Thursday 24th, but remember we close at 3pm on Christmas Eve. If you order medication after Tuesday 22/12 your collection date will be after Christmas.

If you’re worried your pet has eaten something harmful:

  1. Stay calm
  2. Call us on 01527 889810 for advice
  3. Keep the wrapper and a note of when you think the food has been eaten and how much
  4. Don’t try to make your pet sick unless a Vet instructs you to
