Fitness & Rehab benefits for Cats & Dogs in Worcestershire

Amy Holloway

Since opening in June 2018, our Pet Fitness & Rehabilitation Centre has welcomed hundreds of dogs and a fair few cats too. We’ve had canine agility champions training in the underwater treadmill, cocker spaniels with hip & elbow dysplasia falling asleep during acupuncture, and arthritic cats taking a lap of the pool!

There really are so many applications for complementary therapies, and our fully qualified team uses a combination of hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture and laser therapy to treat a wide range of conditions.

Common conditions include:

  • Arthritis
  • Elbow & hip dysplasia
  • Cruciate ligament damage
  • Luxating patella
  • Spinal conditions
  • Weight loss

Pets can also enjoy swimming for Fitness, Fun, Weight Loss, Water Confidence and Puppy Swims, all in a safe and professional environment.

Why not get in touch and find out how a trip to Clent Hills Pet Fitness & Rehab Centre could benefit your pet?

Hydrotherapy for Rehabilitation

Water-based exercises are ideal for rehabilitation as they can enhance joint range of motion and flexibility, strengthen muscles, relieve discomfort, alleviate pain, reduce weight-bearing stresses on painful joints and promote physical fitness and mental wellbeing.

Although cats are not typically fans of water, you’d be surprised at how well some of them can adapt, and actually enjoy wading or swimming in warm water, which can be very relaxing.

Canine Hydrotherapy

Our Pet Fitness & Rehab team works with dogs of all breeds, shapes, and sizes… and they don’t come much bigger than a Bernese Mountain Dog! Read all about Nellie’s two separate cruciate ligament injuries and how hydrotherapy has helped her recover.
