We’re now five weeks into our third national lockdown, and we wanted to give a quick update on everything we’ve been doing to ensure a COVID-secure environment within our practices.
We adopted an extra thorough cleaning regime during the first lockdown, and have carried this on throughout the pandemic, with regular cleaning of our facilities and extra time given after each appointment to clean the consulting room and equipment.
Pet-only appointments were brought back in at the start of this lockdown, with owners being able to come into our practices to book in and pay, and then being asked to wait for their appointments in their car or outside for our team to come and collect their pet.
We appreciate the weather hasn’t been favourable at times, but the system is working and on the whole, pets have adapted really well to coming in without their owners.
Our team are wearing PPE and taking extra safety precautions when handling patients, and clients are supporting the mask-wearing rules and using the hand gel provided.
As with the first lockdown, unfortunately, some non-essential treatments and procedures had to be put on hold, but we’re hoping to resume some of these in the coming days and weeks providing we can ensure the safety of our clients and our team.

COVID safety tips for pet owners
- Dog walkers, keep 2-metre distance from other walkers and that goes for your dog too
- At home, always wash your hands before and after handling your pet, their bedding, toys, and food bowls – this is essential anyway for hygiene reasons
- If you are self-isolating and your pet needs to see a Vet, or you need to collect medication or parasite control products, please don’t attend the practice yourself. Give us a call and we can arrange the best course of action with you.
