How can I get flea & worm treatments for my pet?
Using our Click & Collect service, you can re-order your pet’s flea & worm treatments. Please let us know when ordering, if your pet’s weight has changed much since they were last weighed at our practice. Moving between different weight brackets will affect the treatment dose your pet will need.
If your pet is having any health problems, please book a check-up with one of our vets. If it’s been some time since your pet was last seen by a vet, our team may need to do a Meds Check (examination) before the flea & worm products can be dispensed
Do I need to order flea & worm treatments if I’m a Pet Health Club member?
Pet Health Club members don’t need to pay for standard flea & worm products as they’re included in their monthly package – see all membership benefits.
However, members will still need to order these products – Click & Collect.
How do I get medication for my pet?
Most prescription medications are dispensed during consultations and after examinations by one of our veterinary surgeons. Medicines prices are available on request.
Our veterinary surgeons may prescribe prescription-only medications for animals under their care. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.
If the Vet advises that your pet needs to continue on the same medication for a short period or long term, this will be dispensed as a repeat prescription.
Does a Vet need to see my pet for repeat prescriptions?
Current legislation requires us to carry out regular re-examinations to confirm the usefulness of the medication, the accuracy of the dosage, and the absence of significant side effects.
Most long-term conditions will require a veterinary re-examination at no more than 3-month intervals subject to the judgment of the clinician in charge of the case. This is to ensure your pet is receiving the right ongoing medication and care for their condition.
The standard charge for a re-examination is £48.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, some medications may be dispensed without a physical exam or re-examination. This can be discussed during a telemedicine appointment with a Vet.
How long will my pet be on medication for?
Every case is different depending on the animal, the condition, and the medication prescribed.
If you have any concerns about your pet’s health, please contact our team for advice.
