Your pet will be settled into our comfortable and secure patient wards and given lots of love and attention from our team. We have separate cat & dog wards at Bromsgrove and Hagley and if your pet needs to stay overnight, we provide a fully qualified overnight team at our Bromsgrove practice during the week. Out of hours on weekends, our expert colleagues at VetsNow take over the reins. 

We’re proud to have a total of four state-of-the-art, sterile operating theatres and a separate dentistry suite at Clent Hills Vets, giving our team ample capacity to carry out routine and more complex procedures for pets across Worcestershire. 

Our Bromsgrove practice is set up for intensive care and fluid therapy for patients requiring critical care. We also provide a 24/7 emergency pet care service, which is complemented by VetsNow at weekends.

Digital x-ray machines allow us to examine large areas of the patient non-invasively. They can provide a large amount of information, whether it is a suspected broken bone or a diseased internal organ. Results are immediate and can be transferred to specialist veterinary referral centres.  

We routinely undertake x-rays for hip and elbow scoring as part of the BVA Health Schemes for certain dog breeds. 

State-of-the-art ultrasound machines obtain extremely useful images of a number of body systems. Ultrasound uses sound waves to create black & white images, enabling our vets to see inside some of your pet’s internal organs.  

Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic aid that can provide us with invaluable information. It can also be used for pregnancy scanning. 

An ECG (electrocardiogram) machine is used to monitor the electrical activity of the heart. Our ECG is most commonly used to aid in the diagnosis and long-term care of patients with a heart condition or defect. 

An endoscope is a tiny camera that sits on the end of a flexible or rigid tube. It allows our vets to view images of the intestinal and respiratory tract, using fibre-optics and a bright light source, that they would otherwise be unable to view. 

This highly specialised piece of equipment assists our vets in diagnosing health problems, taking biopsies and performing keyhole surgery. Not all veterinary practices have an endoscope in-house.  

Laparoscopy equipment is routinely used in bitch spays (female dog neutering). We can also use exploratory laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) to take biopsies from the liver, kidneys, intestines, pancreas and other organs. The ‘keyhole’ approach promotes fast healing and minimal discomfort and scarring for your pet.  

Clent Hills’ in-house laboratory enables our vets to do blood and cell tissue tests and get same-day results. We also use a trusted external laboratory service for more specialised tests, with a fast turnaround for swift diagnosis. This helps to get pets on the best treatment plan as soon as possible.
