Book your pet in with one of our nurses for a FREE weight & diet consultation to find out if they are overweight and by how much. Learn how this could be affecting their current and long-term health, and what we can do to help you and your pet get back on track.
Every breed and type of animal has a typical body condition that shows how defined their musculoskeletal frame should be. During your pet’s initial assessment, our nurses will score your pet’s body condition and determine if they are underweight, overweight or obese, all outcomes that will need addressing.
Excess weight can be attributed to a variety of health problems including arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, liver and lung problems and fatty tumours. During your pet’s FREE weight & diet consultation, your nurse may recommend a referral appointment with one of our vets if your pet is showing signs of illness and/or a referral to our arthritis clinic so that our nursing team can help you manage this lifelong condition.
A pet may become underweight for a number of reasons – not eating, parasites or medical conditions. Being underweight can lead to your pet being lethargic, having muscle wastage and can even lead to conditions associated with nutritional deficiencies. If your pet is underweight they will be referred to one of our vets immediately.
If you’ve ever tried to lose weight and get in shape before, you will know it’s much easier with support. If your pet is diagnosed as being overweight or obese, our experienced nursing team can offer you practical advice and support to help turn your pet’s life around.
Thank you so much to all of the staff at Clent Hills who have given so much love and care to our lovely Zhu Zhu (and us!) over the past 2 weeks, since she lost her leg. We can never thank you nor recommend you highly enough!Angela Kearn, Facebook
I’ve owned lots of animals over the years (mostly cats) so finding a vet practice has always been top of my agenda. With a few failed attempts over the years I began to lose faith. Having recently become the owner of a pedigree dog (my first ever dog) It was really paramount that I find the best in my area and I certainly have. My puppy is still young 9 months old (and we’ve had a few problems since owning him) but the service to date has been Impeccable….First class. Would highly recommendAbi, Vet Help DIrect
Harry my pup, had to go in for out of hours emergency care and a 48 hour stay after eating a whole fruit cake! The staff were all so lovely and helpful. They treated him immediately and looked after him brilliantly during his stay. They gave us regular updates and were always on the end of the phone line! That meant a lot… Thanks to everyone there for their hard work and love for all the animals they treat xxLouise Robson, Facebook
I had to take my cat for his annual booster on 28/12/2016, I was approached by Barbara who asked if it was OK for her to treat my cat. I was so shocked that she should even think that it would be a problem and it was all because I had lost my Jess to cancer earlier in the year and it was Barbara that had performed the operation, found it, and had to give me the bad news. Jess was relieved of her pain on April 9th 2016 and I have nothing but praise for the whole team at Clent Hills, especially Barbara, who I am glad to say can look after my cat any time she wants.
Thank you Clent Hills Bromsgrove, thank you so much and I wish you all a very Happy New Year.Kenneth Anthony Jones, Facebook
My dog actually enjoys going to the vets as Clent Hills are so friendly and welcoming he doesn’t get nervous. Thank you.Anne S, Best of Bromsgrove
Well where do i start! This time 2 weeks ago we were prepared to say goodnight to our very special Boy Buddy who was extremely poorly but with the love and dedication of Alan Barbara and girls he is almost back to his old self. I can not thank the team enough, it is their compassion that stands out, the girls on reception all make a fuse of him the nurses pop out to see him whilst waiting for Alan or Barbara. They are without a doubt Alan and his Angels 🙂 xxxCarol Wilde, Facebook
I love the way this vets surgery are always creating initiatives to help us look after our pets, a sure sign that they really care about animals and us their owners, thank you again.Penelope M, Best of Bromsgrove
Saved my little dog’s life.
There is not enough thanks that can be given to Jo the vet, the surgeon who operated and to all the nurses who cared for Lily overnight after suffering with a Pyometra.
You are all stars!Kirsty Halldearn, Facebook
