#MyPetSmiles Dental Competition to Win Pet Prizes

Amy Holloway

Today marks the end of National Smile Month, which this year ran from 13th May to 13th June. We felt this was the perfect time to share our expert opinion that pet owners should be looking after their pets’ smile every month, well, every day in fact. Read on to learn about our smiling pets competition…

Prevention is definitely better than cure when it comes to oral health in our pets and a combination of regular home care, cleaning products and occasional veterinary treatments can help your pet avoid unnecessary pain, discomfort and disease.

Around 80% of dogs and cats over 3 years old have some level of gum disease. If left untreated, infections caused by gum disease can develop into more serious conditions affecting the heart, liver, kidneys and brain.

#MyPetSmiles Competition

So today, we’re launching our #MyPetSmiles campaign on Facebook, where pet owners can win a Goody Bag full of pet products, toys and treats. To enter, post a photo of your pet smiling on either our Bromsgrove, Hagley or Rubery Facebook page, and tell us about their home care dental routine in the post itself, along with the hashtag #MyPetSmiles . Finally, give our competition post a quick share to your pet loving friends & family, and you’re all done!

The competition closing date is Sunday 7th July and our team will pick their two favourite winners from our entries. Winners will be announced on Facebook by 12th July and you will find the competition Ts & Cs at the bottom of this post. Good Luck!

Merryn the rough collie has a good home care dental routine and healthy teeth and gums

It’s important to check your pet’s teeth regularly at home for signs of gum disease, and our team can show you how to do just that. The most common and obvious signs of gum disease are bad breath (this is not normal), red inflamed gums, and a build-up of yellow/brown tartar on the teeth. Gum disease can be extremely painful for our pets, and can lead to serious health problems affecting vital organs in the body, including the heart and liver.

Regular home care combined with certain foods, products and toys can help to improve the health of your pets’ teeth and gums, and just like us humans, regular checkups and the odd scale and polish can go a long way to keeping your pet in tip top condition.

Book an appointment with our veterinary team to check your pet’s oral health.

Now you can get a FREE routine dental health checkup every 6 months when you join our TLC Pet Club, including home are advice, as well as 10% off standard dental packages along with many more benefits.
